Steven Soderbergh challenges his film-making abilities in this clever ghostly tale captured wholly through the eyes of a ghost. As a family featuring mother Rebekah plus Callina Liang as Chloe moves into their fresh home, the filming device – representing the ghost – tracks their movements. The daughter appears sensing the poltergeist, and it looks like guarding her. However, the motive remains? This is an entertaining concept that doesn't outstay its welcome, with a twist you might not see coming. This Saturday, afternoon and evening times, the Sky channel

This Creepy Thriller
Scott Derrickson's locked-room horror remains effective without requiring a follow-up. Set in 1970s Colorado, multiple child abductions has rendered the children anxious. Once Finney is taken by “the Grabber” and held captive in a cellar, he anticipates a terrible outcome. But the old telephone on the wall continues to ring, with ghostly voices offering help, while the intuitive nightmares from his sibling Gwen could save him. A solid creepfest. The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the conflict between God and Mammon, the victory is clear for greed in Michael Showalter's wonderfully garish film adaptation about the fallen televangelist and her felon spouse. Andrew Garfield plays the venal Jim, who proclaims at the beginning, “God does not want us to be poor,”. He and Tammy Faye begin profiting from the nation's religious faith. It's a spectacle of bad interior design, excessive cosmetics and bad faith, though Jessica Chastain manages to present Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. Tuesday 14 October, late night, on Film4
